CELDT STOT Workshop
 Description
The purposes of the STOT workshops for the 2012-13 Edition of the Californina English Language Development Test (CELDT) are to train participants to: * Standardize the administration of the CELDT * Reliably score the Writing, Listening, and Speaking items * Train other qualified persons to administer the CELDT as Test Examiners * Important: All Test Examiners must receive training to administer the current Edition of the CELDT each year.

Mobile Learning for Administrators
 Description

Elementary Principal Network Meetings
 Description
The Elementary Principal Network Meetings are designed to provide a forum for dialogue, discussion, and sharing of resources/ideas/promising practices among the site leaders from public, private, and charter elementary schools in Santa Cruz County. The theme for this year's meetings is Implementing the Common Core State Standards Inititative. These meetings are an opportunity to support and be supported by fellow elementary school administrators.

Grading For Learning
 Description
School teams (of no more than 7) will examine their grading practices/policies to determine if they are objective, equitable, and fair.  The workshop outcomes will be to refine, develop, or implement changes in current grading practices. Please designate one person as the lead for registration and enter the names of the team members in the appropriate box.  No need for each team member to register individually. Teams must commit to the entire series. $30 per person registration fee for those not working in Santa Cruz County.

Leading Edge Online Teacher Certification
 Description
This certification program includes one face-to-face kick-off and 8 weeks of online coursework equivalent to approximately 45-60 hours. Online Teacher Certification guides educators through a curriculum based on the iNACOL National Standards for Online Teaching. Leading Edge Certified Online Teachers not only have the skills to effectively facilitate online courses, but also have a solid understanding of how to enhance the learning opportunities for all students enrolled in their courses. Participants should be able to navigate the internet and have basic technical skills, for example using productivity tools and web 2.0 tools. Digital Connections Workshop Series

Online and Blended Teacher Certification Program (Leading Edge Certification)
 Description
This workshop is an eight-week certificate program designed to prepare you with the knowledge, skills, and techniques necessary to become an effective online instructor. This program will integrate contemporary technology into teaching practices and learning activities using software, cloudware, and resources that integrate curriculum objectives and educational goals. The Online Teacher Certification Program requires only two in-person meetings. The majority of the work will be completed online. Participants should expect to spend 8-10 hours/week to read course materials, to complete projects, to participate in discussion forums, and to develop a professional portfolio. County Math Contest
 Description
The Math Contest provides students in grades 5-8 with both a team competition and an individual test format. The team competition requires students work together using problem-solving strategies, showing work and providing clear and detailed explanations. The individual test for all grade levels uses a free response format. The 8th grade test includes questions that reflect state requirements for 8th grade Algebra.
