Region V School Law Enforcement Partnership - Cyber Safety, Social Networks and the Bully Connection

Event Date: Mar 24, 2010
Participants will learn the latest about bullying research , cyber safety/social networking, review anti-bullying processes and programs, and begin to develop a plan for creating a bully-free environment for their students. Participants will be provided with a binder with sample assessments and a CD of workshop information and resources to create a plan for bullying prevention, cyber safety and meet the requirements of AB 79 - Bullying Prevention Policy. Sample policies and cyber safety curriculum will be presented. Schools are encouraged to send a team to the workshop.

School Leader Development: Building 21st Century Schools

A unique online curriculum, School Leader Development: Building 21st Century Schools combines video challenge questions, discussion, and expert resources to focus on issues facing school leaders - the dimensions of change within schools in the 21st century; guiding student learning; strategies for success for all students; innovative approaches for education; and strong leadership for all schools.

OMS Admin Training I & II

This workshop will provide an introduction to and hands-on instruction on how to use the Organization Management System (OMS).

This will include information on setting up the preferences for each group, creating events, and tracking attendance for the events.

Participants completing this workshop will leave with the skills to create and maintain event registrations online.

OMS Basics: Morning: 9:00am-12:00pm
This training session is for those individuals who want to learn about OMS Basics. Participants will be trained on the online registration, events and consultation features.

OMS Advanced: Advanced: 1:00am-4:00pm
This training will provide attendees with an in-depth training on the OMS Reports Module.
Intended audience: Individuals experienced in using the OMS registration and consultation features, and now ready to run reports with their existing data. The focus for the afternoon will be on how and why one would run reports. (Note: Other COE or district administrators interested in understanding the advanced possibilities of OMS are also welcome to attend.)

The trainers are Delma Davis (Santa Clara COE) and Martin Cisneros (Technology for Learning Partnership, Region 5).

AB430 Principal Training - Module 3

This is Day 2 of Module III for AB430 Principal Administrative Training. Completion of all three modules and their practicums will result in qualifying for the Clear Professional Administrative Service Credential (Tier II).

CONTENT
Day 1: 21st Century Skills and Using Data to Inform Goals & Instruction
Day 2: Cybersafety & Educational Web Resources
Day 3: Technology Leadership & Web 2.0 Tools

PURPOSE
- Utilize technology, fiscal, and human resources for student academic success;
- Manage data and assessment to guide teacher decisions regarding student interventions and school site instructional practices;
- Establish and communicate state and district visions and goals for student-focused instructional improvement;
- Create awareness and familiarity with state and national standards for all instructional team members and core subjects.

Tuition is paid by participants unless other arrangements are made with participant's district.

5th Annual Youth Court Summit - 2010: Healthy Decisions in a New Decade

Join us at the beautiful University of California, Davis campus for a weekend of celebrating the beginning of a new decade for Youth Courts - connect with your peers; share success stories; learn new ways to address the needs of a diverse community and be empowered to make a difference in the lives of the youth we serve.

Reservations are pre-made by the conference committee. Rooms are secured once registration form and payment(s) are received. Youth will share same-sex, double occupancy rooms with other youth in the residential hall. Adults will stay in single occupancy rooms in the residential hall. Adults and Youth attendees will be lodging in the same residential hall by gender.

PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT THE STUDENT TO CHAPERONE RATIO IS A MAXIMUM OF FOUR YOUTH TO ONE ADULT - YOU MUST ALSO HAVE A GENDER SPECIFIC CHAPERONE ASSIGNED TO YOUR YOUTH PARTICIPANT'S DORM AREA.

NOTE: All Chaperones must participate in a mandatory code of conduct conference call the week of June 15th. The date and time of the conference call will be forwarded to you with acknowledgement of your registration.
