Continuing Discussion with Aida Walqui - Breakfast Roundtable Series

For the sixth in a series of Breakfast Roundtables, Michael Watkins, Santa Cruz County Superintendent of Schools, invites Santa Cruz County School Administrators to join him in a continuing discussion with Aida Walqui, Director of WestEd's Teacher Professional Development Program as well as the Quality Teaching for English Learners (QTEL) project. After a short presentation by Ms. Walqui, there will be time for questions and discussion by the participants.

Digital Citizenship Summit

CELDT STOT Workshop

The purposes of the STOT workshops for the 2013-14 Edition of the Californina English Language Development Test (CELDT) are to train participants to:
* Standardize the administration of the CELDT
* Reliably score the Writing, Listening, and Speaking items
* Train other qualified persons to administer the CELDT as Test
Examiners
* Important: All Test Examiners must receive training to administer the current Edition of the CELDT each year.

CPIN: Social-Emotional Development: Social Interactions (Relationships)

Become familiar with Preschool Learning System components developed by the California Department of Education, Child Development Division. Become familiar with the social-emotional development foundations with a focus on the social interactions strand. Understand the format and content of the foundations in the Social Interactions strand. Experience the synergy of social interactions.

Online and Blended Teacher Certification Program (Leading Edge Certification)

This workshop is an eight-week certificate program designed to prepare you with the knowledge, skills, and techniques necessary to become an effective online instructor. This program will integrate contemporary technology into teaching practices and learning activities using software, cloudware, and resources that integrate curriculum objectives and educational goals.

The Online Teacher Certification Program requires only two in-person meetings. The majority of the work will be completed online. Participants should expect to spend 8-10 hours/week to read course materials, to complete projects, to participate in discussion forums, and to develop a professional portfolio.

Successful completion of this program will provide you with skills, such as:

Planning, designing, and incorporating strategies to promote active learning, interaction, and participation in online learning environments
Modeling, guiding, and encouraging legal, ethical, safe, and healthy behavior related to technology use
Creating and implementing online assessments

Leading Edge Administrator (Leading Edge Certification)
